| The Red Paperclip Challenge 2009 |
|
In July 2005, the Canadian Kyle MacDonald decided he wanted to trade one red paperclip for a house. Just one year and 14 trades later, he had achieved his goal, successfully trading up from his seemingly worthless paperclip to a house in the centre of a Canadian town. Now you can see how far you can make one red paperclip go in The Red Paperclip Challenge 2009!   From Monday 16th to Wednesday 18th November, teams of 2-3 people will battle it out to see who can trade up to the most valuable item. To do well, participants must have determination, creativity and the ability to think outside the box! The winning team will receive a mystery prize, which will be presented at the closing event on Wednesday evening in Pulse.Â
The competition is free and open to all University of Leeds students. The competition is designed to run along side lectures so don’t worry if you have a lot of them, just make sure someone in your team can come to the union between 10am and 12.30pm on Monday morning.
